Abstract

An international study of mathematics and science education tells us more about what we need to know to improve math and science teaching and professional development drawing on lessons from The TIMSS 1999 Video Study. This paper pinpoints key similarities among high-achieving countries such as Hong Kong, Japan, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Czech Republic.
